Bandar Boushehr municipality distributes ten tons of biodegradable plastic bags among Boushehr citizens
As pubic relation center of Bandar Boushehr municipality has reported, the head of public relation and international affairs in Bandar Boushehr municipality announced that: Ten tons of plant based plastic bags (Bioplastic bags) ,which are 100% biodegradable, are already prepared to be distributed among citizens. This policy is practiced in order to promote culture of using nature-friendly material and to familiarize citizens with various ways of environmental protection as well as changing norms of consumption from using finite oil-based material to interminable natural ones.
Omid Parsaeifar, head of public relation and international affairs in Bandar Boushehr municipality, declared that these bioplastic bags are manufactured in different sizes, as requested by Bandar Boushehr municipality, and the logo and sign of Bandar Boushehr municipality are printed on them with the motto of Environmental Protection. He also added: “So far three tons of these bioplastic bags have been distributed among food-sale representatives for free to be used by citizen, the rest will also be gradually distributed as well.”
Parsaeifar emphasized on the fact that normal plastic bags, which are made of polymer and oil-based material, not only are harmful for health and hygiene of customers, but also are indissoluble in nature. He also states: normal plastic bags remain as trash and pollutants hundreds of years in nature and in soil. This is while plant-based bags which are made of interminable natural material such as corn and potato starch are completely recycled in nature after two years without creating any pollution. They naturally return to the environmental cycle.
